Interested in becoming an Antidote Support Group facilitator?
Purpose:
To support individuals recovering from Psychological Manipulation by leading Antidote’s weekly peer support groups. This role offers lived-experience guidance, compassion, and community to those healing from manipulation in cult-like groups, extremist organizations, online conspiracies, or abusive relationships.
Role Description:
The Peer Facilitator leads a 10-week online support group (one 90-minute session/week), creating a safe, supportive, and educational environment. This is not a clinical position but a peer-led role providing emotional support, insight, and empowerment based on shared experience.
Requirements:
- Survivor or close supporter of someone affected by Psychological Manipulation
- At least 3 years removed from the manipulative environment
- Demonstrates emotional stability and personal growth
- Strong communication and boundary-setting skills
- Calm under pressure and able to manage sensitive discussions
- Access to a private space, stable internet, computer, and webcam
- Comfortable using online video conferencing platforms
Time Commitment:
- One-time training: ~4 hours
- Weekly:
• 90-minute session + 15 min prep/closure
• 1–2 hours prep
• 30 minutes documentation - Monthly: 1-hour debrief with supervisor
Total: Up to 5 hours/week
