Our Theory of Change

Building a Future Free from Psychological Manipulation

Psychological Manipulation is a public health crisis that affects individuals, families, and communities. It distorts reality, erodes trust, and creates cycles of control, coercion, and harm. Despite its widespread impact, awareness, prevention, and support systems remain limited.

At Antidote, we believe that change is possible—but only with a clear, strategic, and scalable approach. Our Theory of Change outlines how we work to prevent manipulation, support those affected, and drive systemic change.

The Problem

Psychological Manipulation is not just an individual issue—it is a deeply rooted societal problem that manifests in various forms.

Despite growing awareness, many people lack the tools to recognize, resist, and recover from manipulation. Those affected often face shame, stigma, and isolation, making it even harder to seek help.

Our Approach to Change

Antidote’s Theory of Change is built on three core pillars:

Prevention starts with education and advocacy. When individuals understand the tactics used in Psychological Manipulation, they are less likely to be deceived and more empowered to protect themselves.

We focus on:

  • Public awareness campaigns to expose manipulative tactics
  • Educational programs to teach critical thinking and media literacy
  • Training for trusted voices—educators, community leaders, and advocates—who can spread awareness within their networks

For those affected by Psychological Manipulation, access to support and healing resources is essential. Recovery requires understanding, community, and trauma-informed interventions.

We provide:

  • Self-help tools and survivor resources to guide individuals on their journey
  • Support groups and peer networks to foster healing and connection
  • Training for therapists and counselors to ensure survivors receive informed care

To truly eliminate Psychological Manipulation, we must address the root causes and structures that allow it to persist. This requires policy changes, institutional reforms, and collective action.

We work to:

  • Strengthen legal protections for individuals affected by coercion and manipulation
  • Advocate for recognition of Psychological Manipulation as a public health concern
  • Collaborate with researchers, policymakers, and human rights organizations to influence change at a societal level

Our Impact & Long-Term Vision

By combining education, direct support, and systemic advocacy, Antidote aims to:

✔ Reduce vulnerability to Psychological Manipulation through widespread awareness
✔ Increase access to support and recovery resources for those affected
✔ Shift societal attitudes to recognize and address Psychological Manipulation as a serious issue
✔ Create lasting policy changes that protect individuals from coercion and exploitation

We envision a world where every person has the tools to recognize Psychological Manipulation, protect their autonomy, and support others in doing the same.
